How to manage stress?
Stress has been dubbed the Health Epidemic of the 21st Century by the World Health Organization and the toll is enormous. The effects of stress have a huge negative impact on our economy. And more worrying is the devastating effect on our emotional and physical health.
Numerous studies show that job stress is by far the major source of stress and that it has escalated progressively over the past few decades. Increased levels of job stress have been demonstrated to be associated with increased rates of heart attack, hypertension, obesity, addiction, anxiety, depression and other disorders.
Due to my diagnosis of post infectious fatigue syndrome I learned to be hyper aware of what causes me stress and how to manage it. I discovered that stress is not only causes by negative rumination, but that much more is involved. I studied the impact of stress in the body, and many techniques to manage stress.
